In a new Rasumussen poll released today, it seems that McCain might just trounce either Democrat nominee. It's early and I'm not really a big believer in polls, but this one did catch my attention.
The polls shows John McCain currently leads Barack Obama 49% to 42% and Hillary Clinton 51% to 41% margin - that's double digits. And, as my friend Dustin Hawkins notes, "only a handful of states are even must-watch as most states are fairly predictable. The big ones to watch are: Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania followed by Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Missouri. The Democratic candidate would realistically need to take 5 of these 7 swing states."
In other words, there are only so many states where the Democrats are even competitive, and this year there may be some that they don't even compete with McCain on. His "maverick" Republicanism may just help defeat the far Left Democrats.
To top this off, McCain hasn't even been in the spotlight lately, as the Democrats continue to feud over race, gender, the contentious convention, the superdelegates, and the possiblity of seating the Florida and Michigan delegates. Even though Rush Limbaugh isn't a fan of John McCain, his "Operation Chaos" is working.
